The west central Florida city of Dunnellon lies west of Ocala and north of Crystal River. This small town is located on the Rainbow and Withlacoochee rivers and is known as the Treasure of the Nature Coast. Dunnellon has something to offer everyone: from beautiful Rainbow Springs State Park and the awesome rivers to strolling the lovely tree lined streets of the Dunnellon Historic District. Spend yours days on a river boat ride, tubing, swimming, kayaking down the river, fishing for that big bass or shopping for one-of-a-kind gifts at the unique shops and antique stores.
Take a break in Dunnellon and enjoy true old-time charm. See our Events Calendar and numerous Annual Festivals. Rainbow Springs State Park is Florida’s fourth largest spring, churning out over 450 million gallons of water per day. The park is filled with history and there is evidence that the springs have been used by people for 10,000 years. There is also a two-mile nature trail, snack bar, and awesome man-made waterfalls that were built when the area was a privately-owned attraction. Make sure to head out to Dunnellon and spend some time exploring. Rent some tubes (at the Tube Entrance on SW 180TH Ave. Rd.), take a trip down the river, then come back into town and visit the many unique shops and restaurants in the Dunnellon Historic District.
